Why our children need you

In Texas, there are approximately 13,000 children in the foster care system waiting to be adopted

Only 15% of all adoptions are of children ages 11-17

Over 1,300 teenagers are emancipated each year in Texas, this equates to 4 children per day leaving foster care, most of which with no place to go

Prior to aging out of care, the average youth will have spent more than 55 months in foster care and lived in more than 6 different homes.

25% of kids that age out of foster care are incarcerated by age 20

45% of emancipated youth don't have a high school diploma

Of females that age of out care,  half become pregnant by 19, and by age 20 nearly half of that group has experienced a 2nd pregnancy

Up to 49% of homeless young adults were in foster care

Studies show there's an estimated savings of $235,000 in total public benefits, including child welfare and human services costs, per child that is adopted before aging out of foster care

If every child aging out THIS year had a home, we'd have a societal saving of $6.5 billion in the U.S., and $370 million in savings in Texas
